1. Connect the Opt Lasers signal cable heads to the socket marked “Outputs” of the xPro V4 controller, the output for spindle control - Variable Spindle and GND.
    1. Connect the Spindle PWM (Variable Spindle) signal to the laser head Modulation Input 2 (Pin #2) and an Analog Ground Output to the Signal GND (Pin #3) of the laser head with signal cables.
    2. Spindle Direction signal can be connected to the Enable 1 input of the PLH3D-CNC Adapter for additional safety.
  2. Use a 12-24V min 2.5A external power supply to power the laser head. Do NOT power the laser head from the same power supply to which stepper motors are connected.
  3. Connect the power supply to the Vcc (Pin #4) and Vcc GND (Pin #5) of the laser head. This can be done with an additional terminal block.

Important: PLH3D-6W-Series engraving laser head should be powered from a high-quality power supply without anything else connected. Please note: connecting the laser head to the same power supply unit as a stepper motor or any other high-impedance equipment is not recommended. Doing so may cause damage to the laser diode.

Pin #5 and Pin #4 are responsible for the power supply line of the laser head, they must be connected to positive and negative terminals of the power supply respectively. Pin #1 and Pin #3 are responsible for Modulation Input #1. Pin #2 and Pin #3 are responsible for Modulation Input #2. Note: Modulation Input #1 and Modulation Input #2 have a common ground.

Important: Do not connect both Modulation Input #1 and Modulation Input #2 at the same time. Doing so may result in malfunction of the laser head.
