WINCNC 2.4 is a high-quality controller with dedicated software created by WINCNC. It’s a broadly used controller, implemented in machines of such manufacturers as Camaster, Shop Sabre, WoodTech, and many more.

Connection

Thanks to using the Laser Adapter, the connection of all Opt Lasers laser heads looks exactly the same.

There are 3 ways of connecting the Opt Lasers laser heads to the WINCNC controller. In all of them, you have to use the TTL/PWM (pin 2) and Ground (pin 4) inputs of the Laser Adapter.

 Possible connections include using:

1. The DB37 socket connection. Connect the TTL and Ground inputs of the Laser Adapter to respectively pins 17 and 21 of the DB37 socket located on the daughterboard. Below you can see the pinout of the DB37. Please remember to change the jumper setting of the daughterboard to be in the laser mode (as shown on the picture below)

2. The DB25 socket connector of the daughterboard. Connect the TTL and Ground inputs of the Laser Adapter to respectively pins 9 and 25 of the DB25 socket located on the daughterboard. Below you can see the pinout of the DB25.

3. The motor output of the I/O board. Connect the TTL/PWM input to the S5+ of one of the motor outputs and Ground input (pin 4) or the adapter to the GND output of the  I/O board. Below you can see the draft of mentioned connection and a close-up of one of the motor outputs.

Adapter setting:

For the connection showed above you have to use program 0 of the Adapter, which should look as on the picture below. To find information about checking and changing the adapters program please look into our guide for PLH3D-CNC Adapter or check our instructional video.
